This is one place my husband has been wanting us to go for years now. He’s been wanting to hike up the Gornergrat, to a face to face rendezvous with the Matterhorn peak. In autumn, because it’s breathtaking beautiful then. The way it was when he went several years ago.
Somehow we hadn’t been able to find the right time. Either because it’s too far to get to, and to then hike up makes the timing difficult. Or because any time we have considered going, it was raining or snowing there. Except this time. It was a perfect clear day of autumn, family was with us, and no other peak in Switzerland was hospitable. Luckily!
What a beauty it is! We didn’t hike up, but took the train. And I have to say it’s the most beautiful mountains I have seen in Switzerland. That hike will stay on the agenda surely for another time!
Awesome
Thanks Mumma, let’s go next time you’re here.
Amazing photos. Switzerland is amazing all year round but I’m guessing this was about Fall time? We were there last summer and absolutely loved it. Had a read as I’ve been covering the trip slowly on the blog. Cheers
Thank you! Yes this was in autumn, and the visual of golden grass against white mountains was stunning. Thanks for dropping by.
