We always find Spanish cities to be charming, vibrant and neat, and of these, the Palma city of Mallorca island is now officially top of the list.
For one, it has the most beautiful cathedral we have seen so far- with this stunning structure across a moat providing the backdrop to much of the city.
And its beauty lies not only on the outside, but also on the inside..:)
They have a big and beautiful old town, with many warm yellow-painted buildings, and some brick ones, with horses and chariots in the shade.. they have cobbled roads and many little churches and chapels at every other turn..
And the most wonderful thing about this city was that when you come out from the old town and into the city, the architecture continues to retain the old Spanish style, every other building is stunning, and the vibe on the streets is a heady mix of the old world, and the here and now, giving it a sense of timelessness, and lifting the spirits above the cares of yesterdays and tomorrows.
And guess what.. the sea is never far.. the white heads of the largest number of ships we have seen in one harbour are visible from much afar..
