As mentioned in a previous post, the canals have earned it the name ‘Little Venice’. And anecdote goes that the colourful houses were in the past based on the profession of the inhabitant. Green houses were for farmers, yellow ones for bakers, blue ones for fishermen, and pink ones for the world’s oldest profession. I threw in there a red one, for an artist who may need a home too!
